As founder and former CEO of The Arcticom Group, Jim led the company from its early beginnings as a market refrigeration and HVAC service provider to its position today as a North American leader in commercial and industrial mechanical services. Under his leadership, TAG experienced substantial growth in scale, capability, and geographic reach, becoming one of the largest independent providers in the industry.
Today, Jim serves as Chairman of the Board for The Arcticom Group, where he remains actively involved in the company’s strategic direction, long-term value creation, and support of executive leadership.
A purpose-driven leader with a history of success in both private equity/venture capital and public company environments, Jim excels at building high-performing, customer-centric teams through transparency and open communication that deliver lasting impact. His achievements include delivering substantial growth and profitability across complex multi-channel markets, from early stage start-ups to large, mature industrial brands.
Jim’s passion for the mechanical services sector grew from his time as an area general manager with Johnson Controls and later as the leader of North American distribution for Trane Commercial Systems/Hussmann. His diverse leadership experience includes serving as the industrial division president of Filtration Group Corp, the world’s fastest growing filtration company, president of the residential and industrial divisions of SunPower Corporation, and CEO of the landmark Silicon Valley-based grid scale energy storage start-up, EnerVault.
Jim began his career in military and commercial aerospace markets with Bearing Inspection Incorporated and AlliedSignal Aerospace. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Jim and his family live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
